Pencil on paper
22.0 x 33.0 cm
I can't for the life of me remember exactly WHY I did this (maybe it was like that line from Calvin and Hobbes: "I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul.")... but there it was in the bottom of a drawer...
The date tucked away below the signature is 1984; perhaps something Orwellian?
At any rate, it's typical of a LOT of the stuff I used to do upon emerging from art school, (Emergence from art school: something like stumbling clumsily out of a stygiain cavern into direct sunlight on the edge of a cliff...) where we used to do these painstaking photosurrealist renderings in pencil on smooth paper, working our way like studious snails through the full selection of graphite from 9H to 8B.
